Prabhjot is a detail-oriented legal assistant with over four years of experience supporting legal teams in immigration and family law matters.

 

Since joining Lumina Lawyers LLP in October 2023, Prabhjot has played an integral role in ensuring client files are managed with diligence and that clients navigating the legal processes are informed and supported.

 

Prabhjot obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Punjabi University in Patiala, India, in 2018. After immigrating to Canada, she furthered her legal education by completing the Legal Assistant Diploma Program at Bow Valley College in 2020. Her combined international and Canadian legal training gives her a well-rounded understanding of the challenges faced by clients from diverse backgrounds.

 

Prabhjot is currently in the process of obtaining her accreditation through the National Committee on Accreditation with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and is actively working toward her goal of becoming a licensed lawyer in Canada.

 

Prior to joining Lumina Lawyers LLP, Prabhjot worked at several well-regarded law firms in Calgary, gaining valuable experience in immigration applications, legal drafting, client communication, and case preparation. Prabhjot is well-versed in immigration rules and regulations, and frequently assists in preparing submissions for temporary and permanent residence, appeals and sponsorships. Prabhjot also provides support in family law matters and is familiar with the Alberta Court system and processes, often assisting clients with understanding the Court procedures and expectations.

 

Prabhjot is known for her clear and empathetic communication style, attention to detail, and calm approach under high pressure. She contributes to a collaborative and supportive team environment at Lumina Lawyers LLP. She is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, which allows her to effectively assist a wide range of clients with confidence and care.

 

Outside the office, Prabhjot enjoys spending time with her family, making homemade pizzas, and playing with her dog, Bossy.
